Hull will look to maintain their hopes of a top four finish after their narrow 32-24 victory over Widnes Vikings last Friday. Meanwhile the Giants’ recent good run was halted by Hull KR last weekend.
There is action at the DW Stadium on Friday night as second-placed Wigan host Warrington, who trail the Warriors in the table by only two points. Wigan will hope to replicate their last meeting with the Wolves after dismantling them 38-10 at St James’ Park in May.
Bottom side Widnes go up against leaders St Helens on the same night. Widnes have lost their last twelve consecutive games and will be facing a team who have won 17 of their 19 Super League fixtures this season.
Saturday’s game sees Catalans Dragons heading to the Mobile Rocket Stadium to face Wakefield. The Dreadnoughts are sixth in the table and were narrowly defeated by St Helens last week but will be looking to stay in the mix heading into the Super 8’s.
Sunday’s double header will kick off at 3pm as Salford Red Devils head to Craven Park to take on Hull KR. The hosts recorded a 37-10 win over Huddersfield last weekend and will hope to keep their dreams of a top eight place alive this weekend. Meanwhile, Salford have only won one of their last eight games.
The final game of the weekend will see Castleford Tigers face a struggling Leeds Rhinos outfit. The headlines have been awash with news of Brian McDermott’s sacking as Head Coach, a position he held for eight seasons. McDermott has won four Grand Finals, two Challenge Cups, a League Leaders' Shield and a World Club Challenge with the Rhinos but has struggled to maintain any momentum this season, suffering a string of injuries.
